All bulbs and tubers are miracles. My mom plants dahlias and I have the same reaction at the bulb but also that it creates a flower. I think kindness is an example of multiplicity, but we often never see the flower that results.

Dahlias are definitely miracles, although they are a bit more hands on than garlic. But so beautiful.

Thank you Beth for another meditation. As I move around our farm, the miracles of what emerges from the soil blow me away. July on this farm is an intense display of color and texture that soothes my soul.

Although I can think of many examples of multiplicity/additivity -- yes, seeds to fruit is a great one -- I also like some that require me to grow inwardly, too. For example, I have come to know a former acquaintance much better; now he's a friend. His life experiences are in many ways different from mine and in making the effort to know him more deeply I have learned much, mostly about developing kindness for someone "different". It's made me more accepting of others whose stories I do not yet know.
