I am told HF 69 is the soil health initiative. John Whitaker spoke to us about the changes and would be a good resource for more information. Thanks for asking!
Oh Beth, Bravo for going to the capitol! I begged out. I just couldn't go into that environment so I took a mental health break. What you describe in your post is a great step by step intro to make the process less intimidating. I love being with IFU folks and talking serious issues with our legislators. I'm so glad you found someone encountering similar issues in transitioning to organic. I was delighted to hear from our morning legislator that he sold hogs to Niman! And even planted cover crops.
Beth, thank you for using your voice to represent yourself and the rest of us too. Your work is appreciated by all of us who believe elected officials are there to serve all of us.

Thank you, Beth.
Great piece, Beth. Glad you were there lobbying for us.
Thank you for the pointer on soil conservation vs soil health. Is there a House or Senate File # associated with the Code Change?
Refreshing!
Good for you and your IFU colleagues. The most important task in citizenship is just showing up! Great column! Thanks!
Beth...thanks for a practical, very informative reminder about the process for being part of the solution!

Bravo for lobbying!
Glad you made a difference. Felt the same way when I flew to DC for the March for abortion rights.
