Beth, well stated. PFI is one of the most beneficial resources for farmers wanting to really learn and change to soil health-focused agriculture practices. The Sustainable Iowa Land Trust is another valuable organization that has been seriously affected by the USDA funding cuts. SILT has 4 major USDA grants supporting its work to protect farmland to grow healthy table food and to make farmland more affordably available to beginning farmers. Please keep SILT in your thoughts too.
Thank you, Beth, for pointing out yet another ripple effect of the tsunami unleashed in D.C. The Party in charge lost its way long ago and can’t seem to grasp how it is slicing our nation to death.
The Iowa Organic Association signed contracts with ISDA to help farmers through a transition to organic agricultural practices. We are a very small organization but hires several staff people based on implementing and carrying out the work to make Iowa agriculture safer on the land and the people. Iowa will remain a chemically dependent state without programs to help transition to an agriculture that is safe for people and the land.

The freezes and cuts are so angering, and downright terrifying, honestly. Thanks for educating me on the PFI.
